Posted in Inspiring Leader Attributes

Think of a leader you know who was able to inspire and motivate key stakeholders. Briefly describe the situation and include two or three factors that made this leader so successful.

The leader that comes to mind is from a previous employer.  The reason they made such a good leader was they lead by example.  They also would never ask anyone who worked for them to do something that they would not do or themselves.  I think the thing I respected most was they were not the kind of leader that just sat back while everyone is struggling and they are willing to get their hand dirty.  I had more respect for this leader because they were truthful and did not lie or try to play games.  They respected you as a member of the team. This leader felt their job was to put themselves out of a job, so if they lost a staff member due to a promotion or because another company wanted them that was always looked upon as a good thing, because they felt they did their job as a leader.

Use the portfolio as a running document that you revisit and update on a regular basis.  This will assist in keeping you up to date on your leadership skills.

Posted in Job Analysis

I have used them when working with job seekers who are looking for employment.  The job analysis really helped them get a better picture.
