A Job analysis could help us compare the volume and skill sets of graduates with employer demand to identify shortages or oversupplies and compare the skills employers request with the skills present in the resumes or profiles of the learners in our training
To understand and respond to regional talent needs, I would use a multi-source approach. First I'd analyze the labor market data to gather any trends or changes in employer requirements for the "supply" (our pipeline). I'd then maybe survey our employer partners to understand current hiring needs, gather data on challenges employers face—skills gaps, time-to-hire, retention issues, and required certifications. This information would help our teams to prepare our clients (learners participating in our training programs).
The NY Department of Labor would be the first agency we would hope to gather data from. I then would venture into different city agencies that might give us a greater understanding of data on a local level
