One of the biggest challenges that I have experience is finding people who are willing to put in the work for what they want. In our career center, we often hear clients say they want to become this or attend a class about this; but when it times to do it they are no where to be found.
The few that are dedicated to doing whatever it take, are very successful at the end. Usually they are able to find employment before the program ends.
When I was faced with a communication challenge I overreacted. I think I was just shocked that I was faced with this. Most people often tell me I'm a great communicator, however in this one case I do have to admit that I wasn't the best communicator. I could have handled the situation a little bit differently along with wording my responses in a different way. If I could give someone some advice I would just encourage them to listen completely before responding.
The Coronavirus Disease has caused us to use a lot of critical thinking in our organization. From checking a daily health checklist to encouraging employees to get vaccinated. Although COVID-19 is over a year old we still find ourselves facing challenges daily.
The first thing I would do is actually prepare for the meeting. The reason a lot of meetings aren't success is because people fail to prepare. The next thing I would do is send out a agenda to everyone that is invited. 24 - 48 hours after the meeting, I'll send out a meeting summary to the same people.
I've set a goal to review my portfolio often for reminders and to seek ways to improve my leadership skills.
